ABS Light problems

ABS light comes on randomly, during vehicle operation? What could be wrong with it? 1993 Buick Skylark.

The ABS controler is seeing a problem. Pull the trouble codes. Some auto parts stores will do it for free.

I have a 1995 Skylark. I had that ABS light come on constantly. It turned out to have a bad ignition switch even though the car started okay.

There's also a recall out where GM added a relay switch to prevent the ignition switch from melting itself with too much reverse current if the key was held in "start" for too long when trying to crank the engine. Since it's an official recall, they'll add the relay for free but won't pay for replacing the ignition switch.

i had the etc/abs come on in my 97 GS and found that moisture gets into the sensors on the wheels. sprayed them with WD40 and no more lights. Although they came on again this week due to torrential rain. time for another dose of WD40.
