HELP. tierod

i am trying to replace the tierod on my 2000 plymouth neon. can someone tell me how please.

Remove the nut. Use a puller or fork to seperate the stud. Unscrws the old tie rod from the link. Make sure you measure how far the old tie rod was sticking out so you can put the new on back at the same distance.

ya i cant unscrew the old tierod. its on a ball joint. wont unscrew from the rack

The service manual for our 97 shows the end of the rod sticking out below the nut to have hex flats on it, like a little bolt head. It might be a 9mm or 8mm size. If you put a 6 point socket on that, it shows you being able to unscrew the nut with a box end wrench. The other technique (my own method) would be to use an acetylene torch to burn the nut off - since you are going to replace the tie rod anyway.
