I have a 1988 voyager and a 1996 caravan. Both have 3.0 engines and both have 3 speed tranny's, is it possible to put the engine and transmission from the 1988 into the 1996?

Nope. First off, it's illegal. Can't put an older powertrain into a new vehicle. Second, you would have to move the entire wiring harness and computer to go along with it--but then lots of other things wouldn't work. The 96 is an OBDII vehicle and it won't run the old engine/tranny.
