bug help

I got a New Beetle around 6 months ago, and my boyfriend keeps telling me what (additional) stuff I should get for my Bug.. he went online and found a vw car cover (http://www.aftermarketperformanceparts.com/vw-car-cover.html) and vw floor mats (http://www.aftermarketperformanceparts.com/vw-floor-mats.html).. are the ones he found any good, though? He also got me a vw cold air intake (http://www.aftermarketperformanceparts.com/vw-cold-air-intake.html), because according to him, mine's "shot".. I haven't noticed anything different, though. What does a busted cold air intake mean? Thanks for the help!
