I need to replace my rack and pinion. Any suggestions and as to who to purchase it from and any specialty tools I will need to purchase along with it?

Try the internet. You might find a how to replace a rack. Book stores also can order manuals.

I have tried the internet and so far have not had any luck. I'll try the bookstore and see what I can find.

My intrepid squeals whenever I turn right but stops when I go left. Why? Could that be the rack and pinion? I was told that the rack and pinion was causing that, but it sounds more like wheel bearings to me.

Without being able to hear it, it is very hard to tell. You might want to take it to someone you trust for an opinion. Don't replace parts you don't need.

It sounds like they are probably right. Now I just need to figure out who sells them and if there is a newer better model.
