Are those front grilles photoetched ones by Renaissance as well?

Noticed that some photos don't have open doors. Are they hinged so that you can open them at will?

Brilliant work Rob. I spent several minutes admiring your photos before I can start writing something. The car is perfect from all the angles and that door kit really gives it a perfection look.

Superb!

I was always under the impression that those resin door kits had to be glued in the open position.

Beautiful job! I am just curious did you use Tamya TS50 Mica Blue and if so over what base coat color? I used bright silver and it came out a little dark.

That door man!! Very nicely done. Would like to see a big boy exhaust, but the opening door makes up for that big time. :D More door pics...please

The Renaissance kit came with lots of photo etching which included the grill and yes the doors can open and close at will since i made hinges using some brass tubing, brass rods, and some epoxy putty. i will take some pictures later today to show you all. im glad you like it, but it was a supreme pain in my arse to get it right.

I did use TS50 but it was over white tamiya primer.

That's one nice Scooby!

One question though is the stock door panels correct for that car? I thought the race cars had them removed.

as far as i know... the kit came with reference pictures of what the door looked like. plus the resin doors looked just like the doors that came with the kit (superficially at least)

hope it answers some questions... remember its brass rod, with some brass tube hidden underneath some epoxy putty

BTW, noticed a bunch of touch up spots now that ive seen close up pictures of the doors... oops.
