Hi, im new here and i was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on how to power shift...yes i'm a newb i know...i recently just learned the basics on how to drive a stick...but lately alot of racers around my city keeps messing with me...iono if i did power shift but every time from 1st i take off with high rpm and shift too 2nd...then the car jugs on me like 1 or 2 times...so i stop. i'm assuming thats not how to power shift...well if anyone is an expert at it....what should i do to prevent the jug? am i letting go the clutch to slow or too fast? any details or any steps u guys can provide that would help alot....thx! :p

advice #1.. stop "racing" around town before you kill somebody.
advice #2.. if you just learned to drive stick, dont try and race, youll likely kill the tranny.. learn to drive first.

it would also really help if you told us more details.. like make and model of your car, any mods? just saying its "jugging" when you try to "power shift'' means nothing..

You do it by spending a good amount of time driving your car normally, and eventually learn how the car feels. By doing what you're doing now, all you're doing is causing unnecessary wear to your clutch; if you're lucky. I've seen quite a few people wear chunks out of their clutches as well as destroy gears in their transmission, by doing that kind of stuff. Trust me, just drive it like a normal conservative person and eventually you won't even have to ask for tips.

if you r pushing in the clutch when u are shiftin thats not power shifting... power shifting is when u know your car so well u dont need the clutch to shift, although i do not think shifting like that is a good idea...
