passenger side windowsilveradofirerescu 09-01-2007, 12:44 PM I have a 2002 Silverado with an extended cab and a short box. The passenger side window made a pop noise and will not go down. Upon further inspection there is a cable with a frayed end hanging from the motor. When the switch is pushed the cable moves back and forth. I am guessing this is why the window will not go down? Is there a way I can reattach the cable? Do I need to buuy anything, and how much will it cost? Thanks in advance for any help.. silverado122775 09-01-2007, 07:08 PM Sounds like you will need a new cable. not sure how much one will cost. maybe $30? silveradofirerescu 09-01-2007, 08:11 PM OK, next question is does anyone have any information on how to replace it? any help would be appreciated. waitingforcolumbus 09-05-2007, 09:28 AM There are many posts about power windows in this forum. This is from an old post, the links still work. "I paid $110 for the motor, tracks, cable etc. from these guys. It's all one big assembly. It fit. It works. I don't use it a lot. They have Chinese versions for less. http://www.1aauto.com/1A/WindowRegul...olet/Silverado I think the job took an hour or so. I recommend taping the glass to the top of the door before removing the mechanism. I used directions from Crutchfield to remove the door panel. These directions are pretty good. http://www.a1electric.com/silverado2.htm" knewman 09-05-2007, 09:23 PM Ok, dont spend over $100 for a regulator alone. go to Ebay & buy the motor and regulator from amautoparts. they ship fast and are super cheap. The install is fairly easy. Remove the door panel. I believe there are 5 10mm bolts holding the motor & regulator. remove those and the 2 8 mm bolts holding the window. Remove the old & replace the new in reverse order. good luck Sublime69 09-07-2007, 11:58 AM I bought one from ebay form my pass. side window and it was about $40 for the motor and regulator. Although it just broke yesterday haha but it was because a the bolt that holds the motor came out and the excessive movement broke the case on the motor. the installation takes about 30-60 min depending on you experence. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
