I have a 2003 Dodge Ram that sometime the battery will be dead. After charging, it will be okay for a day, week, month...never know. Took it into shop twice and they were unable to locate any type of problem with their equipment. Also have noticed that the steering wheel does not lock.

Has anyone had a problem with ignition switch or tumbler that prevented steering wheel from locking and possibility allowing the ignition switch not to trun off creating a drain.

Thanks, Jim

My dealer replaced my ignition lock twice and my ignition switch twice. After it ran out of warranty I found out it was a bad key. My problem was that the door chime would only work sometimes and when the switch was in acc the radio would work but not the radio display. Something in the switch was not energizing a circuit due to the key. Who knows...try your other key. (If you make a copy it will be basically the same key)
