Get Your Car Color # Through Your Vin # ?? Nevaeh5 08-29-2007, 01:28 AM
I heard the stock color of your color you could get in your Vin# if yours has been faded or ripped off your door panel over time? Anyone know of this being possible.... I have a 1994 Pontiac Firebird, Its like a hunter green with a flake.... I am trying to get the color # to get some touch up paint.... Anyone know how i can get the number or if anyone has the same car let me know please thanks! Morley 08-29-2007, 02:00 AM The VIN won't do it. What you need is the RPO code listing. On F bodies they put them in the glove box, behind the rear panel in the trunk, and I've heard of some being found under the passenger side kick panel. stieh2000 08-29-2007, 10:22 AM My RPO sticker is on the driver's door. should look like this: http://z.about.com/d/autorepair/1/0/M/B/41883835.gif If you look closely, the paint code is near the bottom left corner. Nevaeh5 08-30-2007, 01:11 AM See I think that sticker was on my drivers door also but its ripped its either all scratched off or faded because i just have this sticker thats all white and chewed looken.... I just dont know how else to get the code I dont want to try and guess the paint color.... and have it a totally differnt shade. stieh2000 08-30-2007, 11:06 AM After looking around online, I found http://www.marshu.com/ws6-firebird-camaro-gm-door-rpo-codes-2000.php, which is a long list of GM colors, from which I found these exterior paint colors: 44L : SECONDARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, FOREST GREEN MET (91) 44U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, FOREST GREEN MET (91) 46U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, DK GREEN (91) 49U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, VERDORO GREEN MET ( 92 ) 91T : TOP COLOR, DK POLO GREEN MET (91) 91U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, DK POLO GREEN MET (91) 92U : PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, DK CALYPSO GREEN MET (94) This should help with your search, or narrow it down a little. From your discription, my guess is either the 44l or 44U paint code. Could you try to "match" this to what is left on your RPO sheet? Nevaeh5 08-31-2007, 12:50 AM Nice thank you yeah im thinking its the 44U, Its like a Dark Forest Green with Metalliac Flake Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
