1996 olds 88 remote start

I just purchased a 1996 olds 88 ls. The seller had keys but no remotes. Is there a way to determine if the car is equipped for keyless remote and if so can they be purchased and programmed without an original.

Take it to a dealer, they could tell you. Might cost lots of money though. :(
