does anyone know how to rev higher than 4000...what do i do!

i want to be able to rev my truck a lot higher than just 4000 rpms so i was wondering if anyone out there knows how to take care of this problem with the rpm governor on a 2007 sierra 1500/4.8l engine...plz help!.....:banghead: :runaround:

i think there might be something wrong with your truck, cuz i have the same engine and it will rev all the way to 6000RPM. i'd go get it checked out by the dealer.

im sorry i didnt really explain myself self well...i ment that i want to be able to rev higher while in park or neutrel and also if anyone has a way of going over 100 lol would be no point in going to the track and only going 100 down the strip lol.....

Reprogramming the pcm would be the only way to correct your issue. GM is a locked vault when it comes to handing out calibrations for stuff like that. Your best bet would be to find software that would let you reprogram your pcm the way you want it. (usually a guy with a nice shop and a really expensive laptop)

GM knows your truck wont handle neutral drops from above 4000 which is why they put the limit on it. They're trying to save you some money. So when you try to bring it in under warrenty because the R&P exploded, they will gladly fix it....on your dime.

Just about every late model car./truck has this built in limitation, custom designed for the OP.
