I lost my reverse. I was super hot underneath the shifter. Is there anything, I can do to look at to see if i can fix it myself?

I'm very sorry, but when reverse goes your transmission has seen the end of it's life. Rebuilds are expensive. ($1100-2200) There's nothing to adjust or mess with that you can do in the driveway at home, sorry.
