I have a 350 in my 77 camaro, I have a choice this winter to take a 327 or my dying 350, and do what I can to get the best performance. So can anyone tell me whats the difference and which one is better. Thanks

For a non F.I. engine, I'd go with the 327

Any particular reason why? I mean, 350 has more cubes so why not that?

Not enough difference in CID to make a power difference. The 327 has more potential than the 350. It is a higher reving engine and has a better bore to stroke raito. It can easily rev over 6k with a blip of the throttle.

when it comes down to it the 327 & 350 use the same block the diff between them is in the heads.just make sure the 1 u choose has the tapped holes so the acc. can be bolted on(alt, power steer,a/c)

I look at it like this, if a car EXACTLY the same as mine pulled up next to me and wanted to race and the ONLY difference was i had a 327 and the competition has a 350, i will lose. 350 = more low end torque, wich means you can afford to set the cam ect up for high RPM power and still have worthy dig out of the hole.

A 327 is a good motor to have, if your 350 is on its final push i say go for it. But its not as strong, and those who decide to stack the power up high on 327s end up with a tird out of the hole. Its not as strong the same way as a 350 isnt as strong as a 377/383/400. Sure the smaller ones have better rev characteristics but you will end up with as much power pushing a 327 to redline as a 350 would be on a sunday drive. For instance my 350 vs my 400, the 350 makes about the same power at 6500 RPM as the 400 does at 5000 RPM.
