So i bought a 1994 GTI with a 2001 1.8T Engine, off a guy from Barrie, Ont.
The swap was done at "Europeanspeedsport" in 2005.

The car runs great at idle, and BOV works fine in neutral.
But there is something seriously wrong.

This is what happens when i drive....

FIRST GEAR, rev's up fine cuts at 6000rpm (Not as much power as i was expecting @ stock boost 7psi) but gets up there......slowly...lol
SECOND GEAR,....NO BOOST!!!! and the odd time it has boost it cuts at 5000rpm.
THIRD GEAR, has boost again but Cuts at 5000rom and no BOV???Not to metion takes a while to get there also!!!
FOURTH GEAR,Cuts early again.....
FIFTH GEAR, Pulls fine i guess from 120-160kms.

Does anyone know if its in "Limp Mode" or "Fail Safe Mode" or something.
My buddy say's it must be that and i have to reset my TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)

ANY input would be appretiated.

Thanks guys

i would replace the aftermarket BOV i think someone stupid put on your car . 1.8ts use a different system called a diverter valve you can buy aftermarket DV's from awetuning.com or any other .

by the way when your 1.8t is in limp mode .... you have almost no power at all . check your coil packs as well ... replace them if needed
