It's pretty hard to tell if you need a new one. You usually don't get any warning until it breaks or some cogs start falling off, which is usually to late. Some people have been lucky and made it to over 200Kmiles before changing, but if it goes it's almost a garanteed motor swap. 88pathoffroad 09-03-2007, 02:36 PM Yup. Change that belt ASAP before it breaks and ruins your engine. Come on over to NPORA for detailed info on how to do it yourself if you're so inclined. http://npora.ipbhost.com cdc692003 05-12-2008, 03:27 PM these trucks should have chain driven engines ? denisb 05-12-2008, 09:27 PM these trucks should have chain driven engines ? Unless you have a 4 cylinder, that would be a no on the timing chain. The the V6 have belts and the fours have chains. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
