I have a 95 88 and to remove the fuel pump you must drop the tank,my question is has anyone ever removed one from the trunk?,My 2001 Lesabre has a panel in the trunk that I believe is for that reason, any comments?

There is none on the car, unless you cut a hole through the floor above the pump body!?

Dropping the tank is a hassle, but its not too hard.

Yeup, you're going to have to drop the tank. Should just be a matter of removing the fuel fill spout from the fuel door access and the feed and return lines. Then just remove the single bolt out of each mounting strap.

You might want to siphon any fuel out first as it'll be a bear to move if its heavy with fuel :D

Max,has anyone ever seen or heard of making a hole in the trunk for that reason?I remember years ago we use to cut the fender wells out for replacing the blower motors on some GM cars which if anyone ever did one you would know why.

I guess if you could figure the exact location of the pump maybe but the access to the lines would be problematic also. Not recommended.
