(W.I.P.)1st Illy Attempt(W.I.P.)GirlBear 08-20-2007, 11:38 AM A work in progress, indeed. If you checked out my ford explorer thread you'd know i screwd that up royaly. lol So i recently aquired Illustrator CS2. I figured id try my hand at that. its goin ok i guess. never used it b4 now. but i admired all u guys who do. only figured out the basic tool so far. maybe you guys could give me some hints/tips on how to improve my work. im posting the original sketch/drawing just so you can see how much i improved upon the drawing. i think its pretty amazing. c+c please. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a200/Girlbear/001-7.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a200/Girlbear/002a.jpg Roboduck 08-20-2007, 07:54 PM Wow. GB... first attempt? Awesome. It really is tuff to get Illy for a while, and it really takes longer than pencil, but you are off to a great start. Once you get the Benzier Pen down, and learning to draw from the back forward (although you can always transition layers in front, or behind of other layers), it comes a bit easier. Wow, wish I could catch on so soon. Robo GirlBear 08-20-2007, 08:28 PM Wow. GB... first attempt? Awesome. You should try out CS3 sometime. It's a whole lot better and easier to use. GirlBear 08-24-2007, 04:10 AM Looking good. Blip 08-26-2007, 02:44 PM Great work, you've got the artist "eye" for drawing what you see, now you're just mastering a new tool. I've used Illy off & on for 5 years and still like using Expression 3 better. Much easier vector program to learn and I think it's still available as a free, but now unsupported, download). Here's a link: http://www.microsoft.com/expression/expression-design/CreatureHouse.aspx?key=intro nicecar 08-28-2007, 06:03 AM Holy crap GB, thats awesome, you sure its a first try? :P Roboduck 08-28-2007, 10:11 AM GB... Im having a blast drawing this explorer. Heres another update. I'm still amazed at the front corner. The headlight/bumper/grille look like a photo. You'd better have this one backed up on a cd or external hard drive. I'd hate to see it lost. Just a word to the wise. :) B GirlBear 08-29-2007, 03:21 AM Good choice on the rims. I'm still amazed at the front corner. The headlight/bumper/grille look like a photo.
