1993 Skylark Custom 6cyl. Slow, shuddering from a dead stop.

1993 Skylark Custom 6Cyl Automatic 153k mi.

In the morning the car does fine. From a dead stop I have plenty of power to get going. Usually after about a mile, or three stop lights the car will shudder and move slowly from a dead stop. I can press the gas harder and I will hear the engine run faster, but the car itself does not. After the car gets to about 20-25mph it smooths out and runs fine. This happens every time I move from a dead stop. I haven't noticed the weather causing any changes in behaviour, nor does the car sometimes do this and sometimes not. The car does not stall at any point. The check engine light is not on, nor have I ever seen it on except when turning the key on.
Does anyone have any suggestions, outside of taking it out back and shooting it?
Thanks!

Try changing the MAP sensor, the EGR valve and see if the PCV pipe needs replacing. You also might change the fuel filter and the charcoal cannister (right under the coolant reservoir).

I suspect your shutter may be a transmission gear slipping or shifting issue. (engine speeds up but car does not).
