Narrowed my a/c issue to a failing compressor clutch. Found the spline pushing out of one side & loose.
I ordered a new clutch assembly and will give it a try tomorrow. I also ordered the puller/installer tool to do the job. Never changed one before, but it was 140.00 rather than 649.00 for the complete compressor.

In case anyone runs into a similar issue, I will post how it went for me.
