does anyone know how much oil the 5.3L takes, I put in 5 quarts and it reads about half on the stick. also, does the oil life monitor reset automatically or does it have to be reset???? TIA

Hold's approx 5.5 litres with filter.
To reset service light, ignition on, press gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds, should then return to 100%.This is all explained in your vehicle hand book.

actually i got the same truck the light is reset by pressing one of the buttons on the left hand side of the steering wheel i belive....you keep pressing until u find the oil life then hold the check button until the life indicates xxx% thats when u let go and it will go to 100%:bananasmi
