Speed limiter in T/A 98 gm94 08-12-2007, 09:04 AM
:grinyes: Hi guys. I heard that my car could have a RPM or speed limiter. Is this true? What speed is the cut off? Is there a way to turn it off? I know is higher that 110 MPH because it didn't stop accelerating ... I did before I get a speeding ticket LOL. Not that I want to be flying with my car but just wanted to know how much it will go in case i need some speed. Thanks.:grinyes: goldz28 08-12-2007, 09:16 AM It depends what kind of tires it had when it was built. If you had z rated tires it is limited to 160mph. If it had a lower speed rating than z then you're limited below 160. ikeyballz 08-12-2007, 04:27 PM the only way to get the limiter turned off is to flash the chip.. however, im pretty sure a little after 160 you wont be able to accelerate anymore, if you can even reach 160.. the air friction is too great for the car to accelerate through philly rs 08-12-2007, 05:35 PM yeah mines is set somewhere high or not limited at all...u can have it done if u ever get your car tuned. gm94 08-12-2007, 10:23 PM Ok thanks guys.:p Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
