I have a 99 expedition with 106000 miles on it, the abs light came on about a week ago. Is there only one speed sensor that can fail or is there more than one, and how hard is it to replace? Any help would be appreciated.

Just did mine,(2000 expedition 4x4)it was the rear sensor on the differential. You can unplug it and check for continuity,if its open its bad.I bought it at auto zone $13.00 and it takes 5 minutes to change!!

Thanks I'll give it a try, it sounds simple enough.

Hi, Mark
I have a 98 expo and would like to know exactly where did you find the sensor on the expo. I have been having this problem and the auto shop wnat to charge 65 to find out which sensor, then they will tell me how my it
will cost to replace it.

from what I undrstand ,the rear sensor is the most likely fault. To test it unplug it and check for continuity between the 2 contacts on the sensor,if there is continuity = good, if not =bad.there are also sensors at the front wheels to check also,I didnt have to.Auto zone looks like the place to buy them.:grinyes:
