2002 camaro temperature? brettstgermain 07-27-2007, 05:34 PM
hey everyone.. i have a quick question? Is is normal for my 2002 camaro v-6 auto transmission to have a coolant temperature of 210? the car runs great but it was just a concern. iv have never had a vehicle run at this temperature and be normal.. thanks for the help -Brett wrightz28 07-30-2007, 10:31 AM 100% perfectly normal. brettstgermain 07-30-2007, 05:31 PM Thanks a million.! just sold my 95' mustang so im new to these camaros and for a good one at a great price. its the 35th anniversary .. and i want to to keep it nice. thanks again -Brett poormillionaire2 07-30-2007, 09:58 PM If you don't like it running that hot, you can always get a lower t-stat and reprogram the fans to come on sooner. Or you can get a manual fan switch so you can turn on the fans whenever you want. Just a thought. wrightz28 07-31-2007, 09:32 AM Yeah, as Poor has stated you could lower the temp a little bit for peace of mind and performancel designed these running hot, the fans don't even kick on until 230ish  I wouldn't do anything too radical as it is a 35th anniv. :2cents: poormillionaire2 08-01-2007, 03:23 PM Just to add, when it does get that hot, you can always blast the heater on 100% and that will help alleviate the heat also. I tend to do that in the hot summer months. ikeyballz 08-01-2007, 11:27 PM :grinyes: Just to add, when it does get that hot, you can always blast the heater on 100% and that will help alleviate the heat also. I'm cheaper to repair than the car is. Sweating is a better alternative than engine repair. But with the windows down and putting it on defrost, you don't really feel the heat too much. It pretty much hits the windshield and out the windows. Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
