I want to change my rear differential oil. I want to know which tool can i use and how can i get it .:banghead: Which oil should i use? 80 -90 gl5?

Did you put in 80-90w? Valvoline? Your fine with that brand and weight.

I know i'm drumming up an old thread. I am sure Off-roadX will be an idiot about it. I just bought some Gear oil for my 2002 nissan Xterra 4x4. It meets our hard to find spec of 75-90w GL-4 . It worked out great. A little thicker than spec but the gl-4 rating is the most critical . It actually smoothed out the notchy feeling I used to have. Amsoil is the manufacturer . Here is the link .

You mention a "notchy feel" so maybe you're referring to the transmission, but if you put that in your diff, GET IT OUT NOW! GL-4 is NOT SUFFICIENT for use in the differentials and you'll toast your ring and pinion in short order. Hypoid gear sets need a GL-5 oil. The GL-4 is for the manual transmission.

I was refering to the transmission. I was off topic and you were nice about it . Thanks Offroad X. I just did my whole drivetrain with Amsoil . They have all the specs we need and good shipping costs. It cost me $170.00 to change front and rear diff , transfer case , and manual transmission. My x is smooth again. Not too much steel fuzz.
