I jumped my wife's car and accidentally touched both ends of the red jumper cable wire to the pos and neg posts of my vans battery. My 1991 Dodge B350 with a 318 was running at the time. Afterwards, having shut it off, I came out to go somewhere only to find it wouldn't activate the starter motor and even when I overrode that, no spark to fire the engine.

Any suggestions?

You blew at least one fusible link. They are around the back of the power brake booster. Look for one (or more) that looks melted and replace it.

Thank you.

I was afraid the fusable links were behind there...how do I get at them, do I have to remove the booster?

No you don't have to remove the booster. Usually there is just enough slack in the wiring so that you can pull the lot of them up for inspection and repair.

Well, my fusable links all checked out fine.

Still no juice to the points that power the starter and no spark.

Under the dash or steering column? or, there is a black box mounted on the inner fender wall under the battery...don't know what it is but could be some sort of circuit panel control or such.

Is there any good way to check the fusable links other than visual and continuity? (I couldn't find where each wire went so I could not remove the ends to guarantee continuity wasn't coming through the back door).

There's 9 of them, are you sure you found them all? I believe the one you should be looking for is black and will be the largest out of the bunch, a #6 wire if I recall. There is a wire that comes off of the + side battery cable that runs to a long single wire plug near the battery, follow that wire and it will lead to the suspected fusible link.
