Blue Mesa's in the southern part of our rocky region, lies mid-point of the mountains and flat-land; we actually do have areas with quite a lot more trees along the I-70 cooridor, which is quite a stretch north from the Gunnison area.

Kids and I'll be taking a trip here again in about 2 weeks, I'll get you some more mountain pics.
