2005 chrysler t & c touringmocath 07-14-2007, 10:23 PM Having trouble with the automatic locks on this model. Have been to the dealership three times. Was told on first visit that the 'automatic start' that was installed two years ago was interfering with the lock system. Had the AS d/c and still the problem presist. On second visit was told that the locks where reset and system was working. They worked for twelve hrs. On third visit was told all that had to be done was to take off ground cable on battery for five min. We have had to do this twice. Don't think I should have to do this. But there u r. Also the locks which are now working don't go down automatically when car is driven over ten mph. Any one else had similar problems??? FYI have checked out the AS system and this could have not interfered with the locking system! RIP 07-18-2007, 02:31 AM Hm. Hate to see ignored threads. Not familiar with the electronics on newer vans but know you have a Body Control Module (BCM) that's definitely in the mix and a Forward Controller that may be. These control nearly all of the electronics in the van. When you disconnect the battery you are resetting the BCM and probably the Fwd Controller. It would also unload any binding relays and there are several in the system. If you want to tackle this I would go to Alldata.com, hand over $15 and get the one year subscription to the factory maintenance manual for your van. It will tell you much more than you need to know and is well worth the cost. In the mean time, if you have a fuse labeled IOD or memory in the fuse panel next to the battery pull it for a minute to reset the BCM. Your drivers manual should ID the relays. You could try tapping or swapping them next time it fails. Do not remember the No. I had the same problem, the dealership installed the up date, [no charge] and they have been working fine since. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
