Weird suspension issuesScott1975 07-09-2007, 08:34 PM I am having some weird suspension issues. I have a 2000 Jeep laredo with 4.0 straight 6. has 80,000miles. The problem feels like it is in the front, but cant really tell. When I am driving down the road, doesnt matter really what speed, when I hit a bump in the road, the steering wheel seems to vibrate, like the tires are bouncing across the street, it almosts wrecks me. The steering shakes also, and causing my tires to cup real bad. I checked the tire pressure, its set at 36. the tie rods look ok. I am thinking of checking the front wheen bearings, but I dont really know if that can cause that kind of problem or not. I just replaced the front pads and rotors. This has been going on for a while. Its just a strange feeling when going into a curve and you hit a bump and feels like the front end is scooting or bouncing across the street. anyone know whats going on? thanks in advance hulkmn069 07-09-2007, 09:44 PM shocks may be gone. coil springs get crazy when they don't have shocks to keep them in check my jeep started to skip across the road anytime i'd hit a bump into a turn until i replaced them Scott1975 07-10-2007, 01:33 AM Yea, thats what I was thinking too. I checked the shocks for leaks, everything looked fine. The way my steering wheel shakes when I am going down the road and when I hit a bump it almost makes me want to point to the tie rods. But the vibration from going down the road could be from the cupping of tires, but then again what is causing the tires to cup that bad. God I am starting to hate jeeps, lol. I am a mechanic by trade and I am starting to wonder why I started to work on cars, lol. Cam7 07-10-2007, 03:16 AM Sounds Like Death Wooble Jeep is known for it. First thing to check is the steering stablizer located on the drag link. If it checks out good check the Hubs, Ball Joints , Tie Rods, Control Arms Bushings, Track Bar and CV Joints . Also make sure your Tires are IN Good Shape. Ihave a 93 Cherokee that had it I had to rebuild the Front End to get rid of it. The Cherokee and Grand Cherokee are very close in the Front end as my 93 Cherokee and 96 Grand used almost the same parts. . hulkmn069 07-10-2007, 05:49 PM Sounds Like Death Wooble Jeep is known for it.
