Does anyone know how to install a BOV on a Corrado G60 and is there any pics of the installation.

No, a supercharged engine doesn't need one.

Technically it doesnt need one, but peple have added them. Basicaly they are welded onto the bottom side of the throttle body. You have to remove the boost return tube and cap off the other side of the charger. Ive heard the BOV give btter throttle response, but it can be annoying in city traffic.

I am planning on installing one on my corrado, I currently have an open waste gate, no return line, as recycling hot air doesn't exactly help performance, but supposedly a BOV does help keep higher boost levels on shifts, plus the factory waste gate leaks boost, where a good BOV won't leak any boost at all...

So you are willing to listen to that annoying sound?

Put what on? The BOV? The best way is to get it welded on. That way there is no way for it to leak at all.

I don't mind the sound, it isn't a daily driver, I am after performance

In the same spot where you would put the BOV. When you take off the boost return tube, on the bottom of the TB, there will be an opening where to BOV would go if you wanted one. Just clamp a filter there. The throttle response may not be as sharp as with a BOV, but it prob wont be as annoying. Unless its not your daily driver. Its all personal preference.

TB = Throttle Body

I dont have any pics, but if you go through the steps, you'll see what I mean. Remove the boost return tube. Where the tube connects to the TB, there will be and opening. Thats where the BOV will go. You'll need to cap off the other end of the G-Ladder. Search the web for kits to do this or make your own. Just make sure its totally sealed.

so the BOV goes on the TB. doesnt the ISV throw out the excess boost cant i just put a BOV on that?

The stock ISV isn't designed to control boost, it can be modified to do so, often on the corrado the ISV leaks, and you do loose boost, this is a very common problem, and you need to do an ISV rerout, which basically means add a check valve in line with the ISV. This would not be the ideal route for a BOV. On the bottom of your throttle body (the piece that bolts onto the intake, and your throttle cable connect to to control the throttle plate) the bottom has a wastegate, which will have a return line going back to the supercharger, if you remove the return line, make a blank plate or add a second intake to your supercharger, you then have an open hole.. You can add a BOV here, inbetween shifts your wastegate opens, and all your boost is lost, not a real big deal since the charger is still spinning, and will have boost as soon as you go WOT. But... if you have long intake lines, and a large intercooler, and it is just a shift it is nice to keep some boost, when u are not on the throttle you can not have full boost, your car will run lean, and detonitation will accour. You can set your BOV at say 5psi, and this will give you a quicker return between shifts, if you are running at like 20psi for instance, and you drop to zero between shifts, it will take longer to gain to full boost under a load, then if you are starting at 5psi instead of 0.
Now on the other hand installing a filter instead of a BOV or the return line is the most efficent thing for your engine. Your supercharger is plenty capable of pulling in enough fresh air, that their is no need to recycle air, and your charger makes air hotter, so why would you want to feed in air you already heated up, when their is fresh air available, this helps keep air temps down which creates denser air, and therefore more horsepower. which I think is the main goal here..

yes this would work for a turbo setup, but it needs to be on a wastegate with a supercharger...

what is that picture showing me? im a noob to Corrado so bear wit me :flash:

The big part in the middle of the pic is the actual BOV. As you can see it has been welded onto the underside of the throttle body, where the G-Ladder boost return tube would go to. The opening more towards the top of the car is the actual throttle body opening for the air intake. If youve got any other qusetions, locate me on AIM. My screen name is SlickGerms. :D
