93 grand jeep cherokee overheated.....Jazagod 07-06-2007, 12:10 PM Hi there, be gentle on me I fix pc's not Jeeps... Last night I was on the highway when my Jeep overheated, I let it cool then got it to a gas station. I added, water and coolant, some oil while I was at it and let it cool for a good half hour. I turned it over hoping for the best when it started sputtering while it was Idling. Also there was alot of gassy smelling exhaust. When it was sputtering I could hear it out of the muffler kinda like tinny slap, over and over till it got to running temp. It kept on over heating, and even now when I turn her over it keeps sputtering with loads of exahst...stinky! Anyone have an Idea what the heck happend? it was all of a sudden with no warning what so ever!! Today I will flush the rad, but after that I have no clue.. Help me please!!runaround Jaza renegaderob18 07-09-2007, 01:11 AM check to make sure the water pump is not leaking and check into buying a new thermostat. I had one exactley like yours and replaced the water pump, thermostat and made sure the fan was working properly and have not had a problem for over a year Renegaderob18 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
