Do a google ''1998 Ford drive cycle''
If you hook a scanner to the DLC & monitor for the ''inc'' , the incomplete test needs tobe performed.

1) Only do the ''inc'' test portion of the drive cycle, so you can get your inpection passed.

Example - So many miles @ 35mph city
'' '' '' @ 65mph Highway

I ended up driving a mix of city, then hwy, for about 10 minutes each and passed just fine. After 4 bottles of Heet and one of injector cleaner, my check engine light went away....Yippeee..

I own a 2001 f150 and had a blinking airbag on the instrument panel . I followed the advice on this website , soldering a new 12 volt bulb purchased at Radio Shack and soldered by them for a total of $3 or $4 l. I now have a working airbag system again. Thanks to posters on this subject. I disconnected the positive post on my battery to reinstall. I don't know if necessary but couldn't hurt. The bulb initially went out and caused the airbag problem when I disconnected the airbag switch indicator to repair my ash tray / change drawer below it. It was enough to burn out the bulb.

On the next fix, lets do it with LED technology.

1998 Mazda B3000 Air Bag code 27. Thanks for the info guys. The replacement lamp from radio shack worked great. Easy, Easy, Easy, saved me over $200. It was going to cost me $50 for the garage to hook the truck up to a computer and $144.00 for the part and what ever labor would have been. I spent $14.00 for the 3 pack of lamps and a soldering iron.:grinyes:
