Intermittent stalling/rough idle issues!

Hi everyone. My 94 b250 van has been having a rough, stumbling idle, and stalls or wants to stall, especially when i put it into reverse from park (sometimes it takes me half a dozen attempts to get out of a parking space!) i bought it from a new-car dealer a few weeks ago (it was a trade-in). It has had a good tune-up, vacuum test, compression test, and fuel pressure test, which all came back clean. The throttle body and idle control valve have been cleaned and the EGR looks fine. There is no check engine light, but I checked for codes anyway and got one that refers to the Governor Pressure Sensor, which I don't think would be responsible, although it does concern me that I am getting it. Drives great on the highway, goes through the gears fine, lots of power, but has some hesitation at lower rpm. Occasionally surging and revving at idle. I've reset the computer twice. Ideas anyone? I'd really appreciate any input... my girlfriend and I had plans to drive to Montana this summer :frown:

Also, it seems to mostly be stalling when I put slight pressure on the gas pedal. For example, while sitting at a traffic light, I'll take my foot off the brake and put it on the gas, and it will stall. And even when it decides not to stall, there is a sudden drop in rpm before it quickly resumes normal operation. The idling is usually fine at this point, with only occasional rolling up and down. aye aye aye... :runaround:

Seeing as how the problem happens when you touch the gas, it sound like it could be a bad throttle position sensor. If the computer isn't getting the "we're off idle" signal then it isn't allowing the extra burst of needed fuel.

Thanks for your reply. I thought about the TPS when the idle issues didn't go away after the throttle cleaning, and other people also suggested that it could be the culprit. I unplugged it from the throttle and then started the van to see if there was any difference in performance, and it seemed to not change much, so that could very well be it. Of course it drove very sluggishly with the TPS disconnected, but it rough-idled similiarly to how it had been idling with it plugged in. I'm going to buy a multimeter and see if i can test the sensor myself before switching it out. Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it.

Replaced the TPS, and behold! Problem is gone! Thanks alloro for the suggestion, van is idling and driving great now :)
