Car key and ignition problems

Lately I have had problems with my key getting stuck in the ignition. The car its self would start fine but when I would try to get the key out it would not come out. The key would get stuck at the point were some of the dash lights would come on but the radio would still be off.

So I would just leave the key in the ignitionfor a period of time any were from 10 minutes to an hour and when I would try to remove the key it would come out after sitting for awhile.

But as of about a week ago the key would not come out at all evan if I would let it set for awhile.

But today my car will not start I mean I have power to the car radio starts and everything but when I try to start it I just hear a rapid clicking sound "probley the starter" and that’s it. Oh and my key comes out now if that helps at all.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me fix the problem.

The rapid clicking is caused by low voltage(low battery or bab connection).
Check battery cables @ battery/charge or replace battery.
As far as the key problem, most likley need new lock cylinder.

It does sound like the starter. You should also get the ignition switch changed too. You might fry that thing if you keep trying to start it. There was also a recall to add a relay to prevent back-current from doing that. Check with a dealer's service center.
