Lamborghini MurciélagoMunedog 09-14-2001, 04:52 AM I don’t know about you guys, but the new Lamborghini predecessor (the Murciélago), is a bit of a disappointment to me. I had an idea that topping the Diablo would be next to impossible, although the Diablo was a formidable successor to the Countach. Oh well, maybe it will grow on me… although I doubt it. DVSNCYNIKL 09-14-2001, 08:10 AM For the non-spanish speaking, Murcielago is spanish for Bat, as in the flying kind. Munedog 09-14-2001, 05:01 PM I'm not crazy about the new Lamborghini Murciélago, but decided to make a wallpaper featuring one anyway. Wallpaper anyone? hakka 09-14-2001, 05:09 PM I don't remember those winglets or whatever above the quarter panels or around the vent....are those production features? Munedog 09-14-2001, 05:15 PM ...or this one. Okay, okay. I'm done now. Munedog 09-14-2001, 05:36 PM Originally posted by hakka I don't remember those winglets or whatever above the quarter panels or around the vent....are those production features? It’s my understanding that these side “spoilers” extend at high speeds to keep the rear end on the ground. They take the place of the rear Diablo wing with the movable spoiler (although I think the rear wings on the Countach and Diablo looks way cooler). :flash: hakka 09-14-2001, 06:44 PM cool...I guess you learn something new everyday:) Porsche 09-16-2001, 12:17 AM Mybe those "Wings" are why it's called the Murcielago. lambocars 09-17-2001, 03:08 AM Well, the Murciélago did raise some eyebrowse out there ... it is true, the car look nothing like any other model Lamborghini ever built, there are some clues from the Miura, the Countach and even the Diablo, but it is safe to say it will take Lamborghini way into the 21st century. A Roadster version is already being designed and should be ready by 2004 together with the new L140 V10 powered model. Take a look at my site for a large selection of photo's and wallpapers in this new Lamborghini built and designed under direction from Audi AG. Kind regards Chris 09-20-2001, 03:52 PM I hate it!! Maybe I'll warm up to it later, but for now, I HATE IT!!! hermunn123 09-20-2001, 10:00 PM i'm pretty sure those side spoilers are for cooling reasons. here's a source. "Now the most interesting exterior features to the Lamborghini is no longer the 33-year-old scissors doors (although Muracielago preserves them). It is the enlargeable air box located behind side windows. As seen in the photo, the air box normally recess smoothly in the body but in case the engine gets hot it will pop up to draw more air into the engine bay. Remember spy photos of the Zagato prototype ? Audi was not happy with its jet-engine-like air scoops thus replaced that with this design, satisfying the requirements of both functions and beauty." Chris 09-21-2001, 07:36 AM I STILL dont like it. Porsche 09-21-2001, 03:38 PM I'm loving it! I guess it's one of those Love/Hate cars. I love it! THat is by far a cool design, Still nobody has come up with my car accesory yet. I'm surprised. Anyone know how to patent something? hakka 09-21-2001, 04:15 PM I'll tell you if you'll let me in on it ;) The first thing you need to do is check to see if anyone else has patented it yet. Go to the patent office's web site and they have a link to search for patented ideas. They may have already patented it, just not produced it yet, so you might never know if it has already been done. If not, follow the other links and you can register it. Good Luck :) Nikezon 09-21-2001, 04:39 PM I like it a lot! I think cars often grow on me as I see more pictures. I remeber when I first saw the F50 man I hate it! But then when I saw more pictures and were lucky to see it in real life I really like it now! For the new Lambo I think it is awsome and when some new versions comes out it will be even more awsome.... Chris 09-23-2001, 10:39 AM I just dont like it. Usually I like cars others hate, but I dont like this. Porsche: I to have ideas on cars. One is for electric cars (to significantly increase range) and the other for conventional (or any, for that matter) cars, which would lower gas mileage, increase performance (acceleration, top speed, handling, etc). I will have to check out that patent site, because I want to be rich. S Brake 09-28-2001, 01:38 PM I went to the lambo dealership yesterday as part of my bitrthday and they said they should get a Murcielago by the end of october and they are getting a ton of die cast models of them. they look so cool. the gen manager had a yellow one on his desk and it was awesome! Chris 09-28-2001, 09:25 PM They got the models pretty damn quick!! The show was just 2 weeks ago, forchristsake!! Porsche 09-28-2001, 10:51 PM Wanna hook me up with some of those? Munedog 09-29-2001, 06:57 AM Yeah, that makes a lot moore since, hermunn123. I don't know where I had heard those wings being used for rear stabilty. Thanks for the info. S Brake 09-29-2001, 01:44 PM Originally posted by Porsche Wanna hook me up with some of those? Well, i don't live very close to the dealership, and my parents won't let me go up every weekend, so i will email the dealership to let me know when they get the models in. if not i will just see if they are going to sell them at the car show in jan. Porsche 09-29-2001, 08:17 PM Nice. Who makes them? S Brake 09-29-2001, 08:23 PM don't know, i couldn't look at it cause it was in the gen. managers office. but it sure was purty! General _Motors 11-27-2001, 07:56 PM i would buy one a black one :) PLAYA_20 03-31-2002, 02:06 AM BAD NEWS FERRARI F-60 GETS FUCKED UP CLICK HERE TO SEE (http://www.ferrariownersclub.co.uk/...r/f60_fire.html) SO THEY MIGHT REJECT IT (IF ITS NOT TO LATE) :( GOOD NEWS LAMBO WILL STILL BE A LITTLE BETTER THEN FERRARI (SINCE THE MURCIELAGO HITS 205 WITH 575 HP) :smoker2: DigitalOxygen 04-01-2002, 01:21 PM Hey Playa I dont think you searched through the whole of that site and plus that F60 burning event happened last year while testing around a race track! That was the black one but as of February this year a new red one covered in black tape (of course) and single rear lights has been spotted. It's nuts for a manufacturer to only make one prototype as things do happen. So before you think the F60 is gone think again, it's back on and will be in testing for a lot more time as there's a rumour the fire was started because of a mechanical or technical error! :o If you want to see this for yourself go here. (http://www.ferrariownersclub.co.uk/happenings/2002/february/f60.asp) And here's the image of it in all it's glory! ========================== http://www.ferrariownersclub.co.uk/happenings/images/f60_red.jpg MOmoney 04-02-2002, 04:18 PM But both Lamborghini and Ferrari just arent the same anymore both the old models looked really good but the new F-60 doesnt cut it it looks like the bat-mobile but the new Murcielago looks thight but i think the Diablo looked better vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
