2001 Tacoma no dash lights or tail lightsbird_dog_pa 06-17-2007, 12:08 PM I checked the fuse in the engine compartment and it was blown. I put in the spare and that blew as well. I did a brief visual of wiring at the light fixtures and the towing light harness and didn't notice any obvious grounds. I don't have a diagram as of yet and probally can't do much without one. My question is, is there anything i should look for? I noticed some sort of module underneath in the drivers side back corner. Not sure what it is but looks like the wiring goes in then out of there. Are there any checkpoints i can check without ripping things apart? The seals around the tail light fixtures look good. The flashers, turn signals and back up lights all work. The manual doesn't say anything about the dash lights using the same fuse. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. This isn't something i want to spend my day troubleshooting. I am in the electronics field so going to the dealer and pay the labor rates doesn't excite me. Thanks ahead of time for any help. bird_dog_pa 06-17-2007, 09:54 PM In case of any future problems i am answering my own post. I cut off the tow lighting harness since it was pretty corroded at the terminals. I took off the rear lighting assemblies and sparayed them down pretty heavily with contact cleaner. This fixed my problem. The culprit was most likely the tow/trailer harness plug but there was corrosion on the wiring harness connections at the rear lighting fixtures. Dash lighting shares the same fuse as the running and tail lighting. The manual does not say as much. TcmaBoy 06-17-2007, 11:13 PM The trailer harness is a common trouble point. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
