Thoughts on this truck? I have yet to go check it out but it sounds like a solid truck. The only thing that concerns me is that it is 20 years old. I'm afraid of the rust problems it could have. It has 109,xxx on the body and less on the transmission and engine. It's a four cylinder but it should have more power than my v6 1996 Ford Ranger and it has four wheel drive vs. my 2wd truck.

What do you think about this truck and the fact that he wants $2500 for it? Anyone have a Toyota Pick-up that is over 20 years old?

The biggest concern in your area, as in mine, is RUST.

80's Toyotas are notorious for rust. (I call it the factory rust package)
The frames rust from the inside out, so by the time you can see it, it's bad.
I'd take a small hammer and tap on every square inch of the frame possible.
Especially anywhere it turns up/down from horizontal, over the rear wheels, and where the tank sits against the frame rail. Both sides and the bottom of each rail.
Also look at the cab and bed mounts.

And why would an inline 4 cylinder have a dual exhaust ?

Oh, and $2500 ???
Here in the mid-Atlantic area maybe $1000, max 1500 if it runs good and relatively rust free. Other areas of the country they do go for more tho.
