Project Wrecked Xwarmonger 09-13-2001, 03:42 PM Well, it has finally happened. Project X is now Project Wrecked X thanks to the inability of the average American citizen to pay careful attention to what they are doing. Today I am paying eulogy to my rear bumper and rear facing battering ram as I hear it clunk over bumps in the back. Damage total to my truck was less than I would have thought. The trailer hitch took most of the damage, much to the chagrin of one 1995 Ford Ranger. The Ranger now has a bumper that has fallen off, a damaged radiator support, a reformed l/f fender, a reformed hood and an engine oil, coolant and transmission leak that will require more than Seal-It to fix. As for Project X, it will be getting a new Cal-Mini rear bumper with spare tire mount MUCH sooner than planned. (That was going to be Phase 5!) I will be flying my flag at half-staff as I mourn the loss of the virginity of my previously pristine Project X. BTW, I estimate the damage total at about $900 - $1000. The Ranger? It wound up with about $2,000+ damage. Schludwiller 09-13-2001, 04:05 PM Wow. Body shop labor must be cheap in Florida. That Ranger would be in between $4-5k up here. Synchro 09-13-2001, 06:40 PM sorry to hear that. so you joined the hit hitch club. huh? too bad you didn't rival Todrick's total cost inflicted on the mercedes that hit him. he needs some competition. ;) i have no idea on this one, but did we ever hear whether calmini is in production with their rear bumper? last I heard they were not, but things change so fast. warmonger 09-14-2001, 06:21 AM Synchro, They told it would be about 6 weeks. I will have to drive around a wrecked truck until then. I just can't see putting the factory bumper back on when I plan on replacing it anyway. It might as well be at some elses expense. Mrock 09-03-2003, 06:32 PM Wow..you certainly did lose your virginity..sounds like you got screwed over, my friend! I've noticed auto work isn't to highly priced down here in Tampa. I assume the reason is because there is SO many auto shops, the price has to go down, for them to stay competitive, compared to the midwest (where I am moving back to, soon), where there are very few auto shops, and high prices.. I don't own an Xterra for the record. Just was searching around on yahoo, and saw your post..so I'm in visiting from the Honda forums... X-Phile 09-04-2003, 12:30 AM There must be someone going around putting "HIT ME" sticking on our rear hatches. Seems to be a whole lotta thump and grind going on in the X forums as of late. X-Phile 09-04-2003, 12:36 AM BTW- Im sorry to hear that her cherry was popped by a damn FORD. Nissans deserve better.:)_~ vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
