type s and type sh...mnd643 10-28-2002, 09:27 AM Whats the difference in the prelude base engine and the SH...or is the SH the base modle? I know they are both vtec but I wanted to know because i am looking at both types of cars. thanks civickiller 10-28-2002, 01:07 PM engine wise its the same. but the sh has all the steering shit which i personally would stay away from, i forget what its called. i would get the base model. BILLIE JEAN 10-29-2002, 11:46 AM The SH is cool just because it is an SH. They are alot harder to work on and they aren't really worth the extra money. I think they have a short gear ratio which is better but the transmission is harder to work on if you wanted to replace a clutch or if something went wrong and broke you would spend a lot more money fixing the SH. If you got the time and money go with the SH, but i wouldn"t.:smoker2: Fishcat37 10-29-2002, 11:57 PM The Type SH has the ATTS (active torque transfer system) which is cool for accelerating around turns. It weighs more than the base model and has the same horsepower (H22A @ 195-200hp). So in theory, the base model (both in 5speed) is quicker. The Type S is a JDM prelude which has a 220hp version of the H22. mnd643 10-30-2002, 02:22 AM thanks for the info guys, i dont know if im even gonna get the prelude now. how much would yall be willing to pay for a 1998 black SH with 75500 mi and its a 5 spd. Nothings done to it, and they may im dealin with wants 12700 out the door.... civickiller 10-30-2002, 05:18 AM thats pretty good, try and talk him down alittle. my friend has a 97 base with i/h/e and he wants 14,000 for it, so 12,700 is good mnd643 10-30-2002, 12:58 PM Aight man, thanks alot for the help vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
