Pic (Movie Interest?)Tony_Ensemble 10-27-2002, 09:56 PM Someone asked offline so here it is. I guess I could do some movies too if anyone is interested? When you see the car in person its much much cooler than any picture can convey. Partially is that its just such a large vehicle. swedish 10-27-2002, 10:03 PM sure, let me borrow it for a while, i'll make a movie:D seriously though you could probably make a few bucks renting it out for music videos. i doubt movies though, cause they would wanna trash it up. DigitalOxygen 10-28-2002, 05:09 AM Very nice Tony. One of my favourite colours for a Múrcielago. You have made many of us very envious and jealous of you. As for the vids that would be excellent if you could do that. Not many owners do this and it is really appreciated of those who do. Thanks. The things we look for in Game artists (in order of importance)... 1) Traditional art skills such as figure drawing. 2) Tool skills, specifically Max (3D Studio): Modeling, Animation, Textures 3) Personality fit: Good team skills, good attitude, leadership skills are a plus for aspiring art leads. 4) Passion for playing computer games: If you dont love the end product your in the wrong business. Hope that helps. GTI RE the Star Wars games: We licensed our technology to Lucas Arts. That means we gave them most of Age of Empires to start with. They began by replacing all the Medieval art with Star Wars art. The end game is very differet but still familiar. In the end we were not happy enough with their game and decided not to have our company logo (Ensemble Studios) put on the box. It is a good game, just not a great game. Now all i gotta do is get better with 3d studio max. but those programs are really expensive:( oh and what type of education should i have. jsb88 12-06-2002, 12:07 PM Business, economics, maths, for businessmen. But depending on your career you take different courses. All things like 3d studio cost a lot. Tony_Ensemble 12-07-2002, 08:52 AM It really doesn't matter if you learn your 3D skills with 3D Studio or some other cheaper modeling/animating software. Once you have the skills they translate easily from tool to tool. The key thing is for you to find out whether you enjoy it and whether that passion is enough to drive you to become excllent at it. All but one of our artists went to art school for traditional training. There are very good art schools such as "Art School" and "Sheridan". They are hard to get into, but if you can get in you can make a good living as an artist. However, many very good artists come from lesser known and less expensive schools. Our one artist that didn't receive formal training as an artist used to be a lawyer. So thats an option too. :) jsb88 12-07-2002, 09:13 AM How many Harvarders? Now over here they do not care about what uni you went to. Tony_Ensemble 12-07-2002, 09:19 AM Not I. You a Harvard grad, JSB? I went to a school call the University of Texas. "HOOK'EM HORNS!!" But I dropped out. So I'm not setting a very good example. jsb88 12-07-2002, 09:45 AM Well that just shows you can be successful with no Degree. I studied at Cambridge. Menu dei Motori 12-08-2002, 06:33 AM it´s a pitty here in germany even with a excellent school finish it´s not sure you get a job! i donßt know if you guys know anything of the unemployment rate here in germany but i´t will soon hit 11%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:( jsb88 12-08-2002, 06:37 AM wow! Menu dei Motori 12-08-2002, 07:45 AM yea that´s really horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! Tony_Ensemble 12-08-2002, 09:11 AM 11% Ouch. Thats tough. During the dot com boom I thinnk we (US) were south of 3%. Now, we just hit a five year high at 6%. Menu dei Motori 12-08-2002, 10:42 AM 6% is fine but 11% just thin about that every tenth person you see in munich city has no job... Jimster 12-14-2002, 04:38 AM Originally posted by Menu dei Motori 6% is fine but 11% just thin about that every tenth person you see in munich city has no job... Holy shit that isn't good at all dude- especially when you consider how very talented Germans are indeed- perhaps you guys in Germany who can't get jobs should emigrate to somewhere that you can- for example- one of the Biology teachers at Moss1O6GTi's school couldn't get work in Germany so she emigrated to New Zealand and found a job with ease :) Menu dei Motori 12-14-2002, 05:19 AM if it would be so easy... we germans often don´t want to relocate when we look for a job. and many speak a bad english (like me :( ) well i´m now 18 years old and it´s my last year at school. i have no clue what i´ll do when i finished school. i´m not sure if i want to study something. maybe i´ll move to england for half a year or a year to improve my english!!! but i´m scared because i don´t know anybody there. maybe i could also go to america! hey someone here who would accomodate me for some time? :D well i just read in the newspaper that the unemployment rate is only 10% well still enough!
