The check engine light has been on for some time now and it is starting to run rough. Changed plugs, wires, cap. This is my wifes car so I don't drive it but I have to go by what she says about it running rough. Where should I start.
Fuel filter would be my guess but what else that wouldn't be to exspensive. I really need some advice on this. Please email me @ wizzard4759@hotmail.com
Please give me some idea about why the check engine light is on and where to begin on that. Thanks.:banghead:

take it to auto zone or advance auto and have them scan it for you... its a free service that they provide

could be something simple like an oxygen sensor

good luck and let us know how you make out

Hey, I just saw scan tools on sale at Kragens, or PartsAmerica.com for 70 bucks. They are usually 100. Maybe too late though, that was yesterday.

I have one and have used it many times. It is the quick and easy way to clear the code, as well as to retrieve it for the peace of mind of knowing what set off the code. I carried it on my last trip to go Jeeping, and sure enough, I had to use it.

For whatever reason the stores around here do not do that anymore. They would not tell me why just that they don't. So does anyone have any more ideas. I did replace the coil to. Please help.

I found out that it is an upstream o2 sensor. Where is that located?

Should be screwed into the exhaust, just before the catalytic converter.
