I was driving it then it died. Hasn't started since this was two days ago. Thanks in advance.

All fuses good?

Fuses in fuse box are all fine. Are there fuses anywhere else?

Hmm, not sure about a 91, but later years I know have an additional fuse/relay box under the hood. Take a look and see if you have one.

I just went and did some poking around in the electrical schematic for your van. I see that if if ASD relay is not working or if the fusible link that feeds it is blown, then you will not get power to either the ignition or the fuel pump.

Do you know where they are located? Thanks for all your help so far.

more fuses are located under hood there on firewall closer to passinger behind the plastic cover on firewall...

According to the book I have, it says that 93 and later has the fuse/relay box under the hood. Prior to 93 there is no box and that the fusible links are located along the firewall near the brake booster.

Here's a quick test for you to run. Look on your carb for the two throttle body injector connectors. One has a tan wire and dark green wire with a black tracer. The other has a white wire and dark green wire with a black tracer. Pull either one of the connectors off and connect a test light (or meter) to the dark green with black tracer wire. Now turn your ignition to the run position. If you don't get any power you've pretty much confirmed the ASD relay is not working or it's fusible link is blown, because this wire you have the test light on comes directly off of the secondary side of the ASD relay.

there should be on passenger side you should see about 3 screws in black cover..it's pretty long plastic cover...and they are big fuses also they look like the little fuses but way bigger...also check on passenger side in car by your feet it's hidden to by a black or ?? cover like i say by your feet...good luck...

Does anyone have picture of the asd relay? I did the check as described above and had no power to the injectors. My wires go into a loom of wires. Also fusible link. I don't know where or how to find that?

The fusible links are around the back of the brake booster.
The relay is a 1" cube (about). It should have 4 wires going to it, one dark blue, one dark blue with yellow, one red, and one dark green with black. If I recall correctly, for late 80s and early 90s it's mounted on the firewall, but I'm not positive.

I replaced the fusible link directly after the auto shutdown relay but still have no spark and no fuel. Any other ideas?

Did you first check to see if the ASD relay is working?

As I said in an earlier post, if you don't get any power to the injectors the ASD relay is not working OR it's fusible link is blown. If you were getting +12 volts to the relay there was no need to change the fusible link.

The asd relay was tested as good. The fusible link behind the brake booster was melted (white wire) I replaced that but still no spark or fuel.

Are you getting +12 volts to the ASD relay socket and does the relay click on when you turn the key on?

Yes I amgetting the same voltage as the battery and I can hear it click on after I turn the key.

This leaves you with only two possibilities at this point. One, the contacts on the ASD relay are fried and not passing power though. Two, you have a break somewhere in the DG/BK wire that comes off of the ASD relay socket and runs to a six wire splice.

I'm getting like 11.97 volts to the plug but when I turn the ignition I get no click? I can take and directly wire the asd to the battery via the blue and blue with yellow and it will click but nothing via the red and the dark green with black.

It gets real hard to help you diagnose this if your description changes. In your second to last post you said that the relay clicks after you turn the key on. Now in this last post you say that the relay does not click when you turn the key on. So which is it?

I apologize for the confusion. I thought it was the asd relay clicking when I turned the key, but it turned out to be what ever the sensor is that controls the light for the oil pressure. I had my son turn the key and I listened under the hood for the asd relay to make sure that it was clicking and it was not.

Does everything else in the van work, like turn signals, 4-way flashers, heater blower, backup lights, dash indicator lights (like the check engine light), gauges, radio, horn, head & tail lights, etc.?

Also, if you pull the ASD relay out of it's socket and connect a meter across the terminals with the DB and the DB/YL wires, then turn the key on, do you get any power readings?

I am getting 10.70 volts across the two. I have all lights except the check engine light. I checked the bulb and the bulb is good for it. I did the on off on off thing and the light never comes on.

Although a bit low, that should be enough power to pull the relay in, yet it's not. The ASD relay coil is controlled directly by the PCM (engine computer) for your model year. Since it's the lessor of two evils, I'd try a brand new relay first, if that doesn't solve the problem you'll probably need a new PCM.

Thanks for your insight. I will look in to that and let you know what happens.
