I have an 87 turbo'd pickup with over 270,000 miles. It's in need of a rebuild. I also have about 5 r and re blocks and heads laying around. Can anyone tell me what the exact differences is between them and will the r and re blocks and head work with my turbo manifolds and everything else? I already put a bigger (CT26) turbo on it about 7,000 miles ago but didn't change out the injectors yet. I want to change them while I'm at it. Anyone have any recommendations on what size to go with. Will I have to change the pressure regulator? I am planning on putting a mild cam in too if they make one for the turbos. Are the cam journals the same in all the 22 series heads? Also is the ecm going to have to be reprogramed with all of this??? one more thing. the oil drain for the turbo isn't going to be a problem. I'll be running that into the oil pan instead of the block anyways since i already had to rig that when I swapped bigger turbos.

22R blocks from 85 on are the same as the 22RE/RTE blocks. The 22R block won't have the mounting for the knock sensor, and the R/RE blocks won't have provisions for the turbo oil lines.

There is a yahoo group for 22RTE's and check these:

:screwy: Thanks. I'm starting to figure a few things out now. I'm still a little confused about cheating the computer to get the right A/F mixture with the AFM. How do you adjust them and what year/type supra should I go with when getting one for my truck? I used to have an 89 supra non turbo and that looked like it would plug right into my truck. ????
