Mistake on my 1999 LTZ?

Got the car back from the shop. Needed a hood, bumber, and cover. I told the body shop ownder to put on a monte carlo nose, not the lumina. Iknow its an aftermarker cover but it looks a little different. Should I have asked for an LTZ cover? I think I should have. Oh well. Damn. He did what I told him to do if so.
It may look different because its not a GM. I rpobably made a mistake there.

Monte Carlos are gm..... In fact, between 96-00 (I believe) the Monte and Lumina were identical body's, one just had two doors.

Yes, thanks! I agree. I was wondering if the LTZ had its own bumper cover. I know thw Lumina is different as it has a small grill where the LTZ didn't. I always assumed the Lumina LTZ had the Monte nose.

I'm not sure if the two have the same front cover, but here's a couple of pics that may help to answer your question...

The bottom opening is more pronounced on the LTZ. This one is further back. It could be that its aftermarket crap. It looks good and is well done it's just wrong. Its not the body shops fault it's ine. I said Monte. SHould have said LUMINA LTZ. The insurance was not to helpful. I should have kicked in extra and got the GM stuff. Bew warned.

You know, I guess they did have different grilles. Oh well, mistakes learned right? I crashed my lumina on an icy road and it just knocked the grille on the trailer hitch of the guy in front of me. Try finding that grille in a junkyard cause it's not a eurosport.....

The Lumina LTZ and the Monte Z34 have the same front bumper cover. The base Lumina and Lumina LS have a different front bumper. Same with the Monte Carlo LS, it has a different cover.

Yeah, you probably made the mistake in the first place by not requesting genuine GM repair parts instead of an aftermarket brand. Too many times I hear complaints from customers about repairs made to their vehicles from bodyshops that use inferior aftermarket parts. Aftermarket parts may not fit properly because of mis-drilled holes or missing bolt holes,( many times a panel or part may fit other similar vehicles.)The fit and finish may not be up to GM specs as well. I've seen repair panels rust out prematurely because the aftermarket panel lacked the rust and corrosion protection offered on genuine GM repair panels. A lot of the time it's the insurance companies' fault for telling the repair shop to use the lesser quality, cheaper parts to repair your vehicle. It is ultimately your responsibility to inform the repair shop of your wishes, or they will use what is available. By law you can require them to use the genuine factory parts and not what your insurance company wants them to use. They are in business to save as much money as they can , and if that means saving a couple hundred dollars off your bill that they have to pay , then that's what they'll do.

That was my mistake. I should have told them Monte Z34 ot Lumina LTZ. I said Monte Carlo. I even went and looked at it. When it's all floppy on the stand it looked right.

Oh well. I am a believer in GM and AC Delco and should have stuck with it. I will go and find the right one and have it replaced in a bit. For now my daughter can drive.

Thanks!
