nipples broken in calipers H E L Ptamango98 05-21-2007, 09:34 PM So I have a 96 Taurus LX, i was going to bleed the brakes. And both my rear nipples broke in the calipers. Now instead of going to the junkyard and replacing my calipers, could I remove the nipples?? Is there a special tool for broken bolts? I heated the niples and still no avail, still broke. Let me know, thanks Johnny Mullet 05-21-2007, 11:05 PM 99% of the time a bleeder breaks, you will end up replacing the caliper. By time you get a bit and start drilling and messing around, you could have gotten 2 new calipers and had them on and done with. I know you can get aftermarket calipers pretty cheap also. tamango98 05-29-2007, 07:52 PM How to fix this problem the easy way, I went to the scarp yard and got 2 rear calipers for $50 :) I came to this conclusion because my bit extractor broke in the nipple hole, so that's the way I fixed the problem. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
