Raced a Prelude...-The Stig- 05-21-2007, 02:31 AM Went out of town this weekend, for the local AF'ers I was up in Camarillo/Ventura/Oxnard area. Was up there visiting a buddy of mine, another AF'er from days past (TerminalVelocity). Saturday night we decided since we had nothing better to do we'd cruise over to where the local street races met up. On our way down the freeway to the shopping mall at roughly 10pm, we're cruising along when an orange '94-ish Prelude with body kit comes next to us. Matt says to me, "Hey check out the Prelude... it's got a kit... and... a fucked up fender." Jokingly, I say, "Yeah? Well can that badass machine keep with me?" and I proceed to mat the go pedal. The truck in all it's behemoth glory pulled past the guy who was cruising a good 5mph faster than we were to begin with. So he could easily see I gunned it to match his pace, and then pass him. To add insult to injury, I changed lanes infront of him and hit the flashers. We had a good laugh... then the guy driving the Prelude came along side us and gunned it. I dropped down a gear manually and put it in my tow haul mode and gunned it. The Prelude had momentum on me so he got the initial jump, but I quickly matched his pace, taking off from roughly 70mph we went all the way to roughly 98mph and I had half a truck on the guy. I'm glad he let off first, because I was about to hit my 99mph speed limiter on my truck... I claimed my victory. He came along side me again and we exchanged thumbs ups back and forth. Not bad for a slow ass truck I thought. Later on that night, after we watched people act like idiots in the parking lot. Roughly 200-250 cars showed up... after the local Sheriffs broke up the meet we tried to race a Nissan 240sx on the freeway. I even honked 3 times. He wouldn't go... I mashed it past him... nothing. Then he randomly does a flyby after I had already slowed down figuring he wasn't going to bite. Punk... oh well. He probably would of won... but it's fun to try. :iceslolan It'd been awhile since I raced... heck, it's been over a year. I had an adrenaline rush from going just 98mph in my truck... had the shakes. Hadn't had that in a while. Hard to get back in the saddle again when you've got nothing to ride. youngvr4 05-21-2007, 03:56 AM next time you see tv tell em i said hey. why doesnt he come on the forums much anymore? busy i take it sounds like a fun race. the street races crack me up now GForce957 05-21-2007, 05:02 AM where is TV now? He used to post, then he went away, then he came back, then he vanished. He seemed like a cool guy KamilMk 05-21-2007, 07:42 AM Hey, good kill on that lude... Especially in your truck. :grinyes: I think I remember TerminalVelocity from these forums, like GForce said, he seems like a cool guy. -The Stig- 05-21-2007, 08:01 AM He doesn't have internet connection where he's at right now... maybe soon. Chiquae07 05-21-2007, 08:42 AM get rid of that speed limiter! maybe also with a ecu tune you'l be able to get better gas milage as well. sounds like you had a fun time. good kill lol. VR43000GT 05-21-2007, 12:06 PM Haha good kill. I love that feeling you get when you haven't raced in a while. Its like having sex for the very first time, you don't really know whats going on and its over way too fast. -The Stig- 05-21-2007, 06:45 PM All over way to fast? You know there's pills to help combat that... ask your doctor if Levitra is right for you. Discuss your medical conditions, including heart problems, and medications, including alpha blockers prescribed for prostate problems or high blood pressure, with your doctor to ensure LEVITRA is right for you and that you are healthy enough for sexual activity. In clinical trials, the most commonly reported side effects were headache, bad breath, low heart rate, unevenly worn tires, incorrect change, male pattern baldness, itchy skin, dirty filters, anal seepage, poor paint job, untimely root canals, hang nails, low fuel lights, flushing, and stuffy or runny nose. I think i'll take it easy on the truck, when I tried to run the 240sx and gunned it I experianced some detonation under the high load. Which is odd... but whatever, it's a truck not a race car. I should know better not to drive it like one. I need to do it's 100,000 mile tune up soon anyways, the usual plugs, belts, maybe hoses if need be... fuel filter, air filter. Heck, might up grade to a cold air intake to get that cool intake growl. A pair of headers is only $350 away... maybe one of these days. VR43000GT 05-21-2007, 09:55 PM All over way to fast? Most of the crappyness comes from the lack of a decent camera... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
