97 xj lifteatdirt054 05-20-2007, 11:35 PM I was wondering the mpg on a xj with a 3 inch skyjacker lift with 31 cooper discover tires. And i was also wondering if this was a good kit(it is the AAL)? thanks AlohaBra 05-20-2007, 11:58 PM Good one...Mpg with 31 inch tires are about stock...about 14 to 18. It depends on how you drive. Stock tire is 28 ...there are many charts you can look at about this. However, with that said the gear ratio resulting is going to different....the 4.0 Liter engine is strong but not a big grunting V8 that some folks are used to. So it is going to drive differently. Enough said....all this can result in all kind of discussions about lift, tire size, gears, and mpg. Thanks for starting a thread... bloodyprice 05-21-2007, 12:26 AM if you worry about fuel economy dont lift your jeep. it will get worse on city driving and stay about the same on the highway but it wont affect it much if your not puttin mudders or swampers on it and if your lifting an xj 3 inches youll look at those 31's and wish you got 33's vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
