For the last couple of months I have been having a problem with the interior lights coming on in my car. We have checked the fuses and do think that it is something in the door but just don't know what it is or what we need to do. We used to be able to hit the lock and unlock button and they would go out and then that stopped working so we had to open and shut the door to turn them off. Well now, even doing that doesn't always work and when it does, as soon as we hit any kind of a pump, all of the lights come on again. In the day time it doesn't bother me but at night time it can get old even if our granddaughter does think I am turning them on so she can see to play. :)

Sure hope that someone can give me a remedy and crossing my fingers that it will be an easy one. This is one great car, only thing we have replaced are tires, brakes, and alternator.

The interior light circuit for the Cutlass Supreme is attached from the door pin switches to the headlight switch and from that to the bulbs.

It sounds like a GROUND PROBLEM, seeing that the door pin switches are what turn the lights on when they ground out from opening.

I say pull the under dash panels off, and disconnect the door pin switches (one at a time), and see if leaving one off for a day fixes the problem.

If it does, you know which pin switch is going out.

Also, the interior lights are controlled by the KEYLESS ENTRY, and if you have an aftermarket alarm, if the door pin switches were connected to that, and it shorted out, then that would do it too.
