rear right tire eneven wear...mwolfe83 05-14-2007, 02:32 PM 1998 escort zx2. The back right tire is wearing more on the inside. I was planning to replace the struts in a couple weeks but just read a consumer report on the 1997 escort that said the rear suspension arms were prone to twisting. They just bulked together an entire range so i wasn't sure if i should be worried about replacing that instead of my struts. To be honest i am not sure how to "check" a suspension arm for twisting... Any ideas on whether i should replace my rear suspension arms or struts? Please...don't say both :S -marshall Davescort97 05-15-2007, 12:34 AM I've never heard about rear control arms twisting. Your vehicle is a 98 zx2 which was never manufactured in 1997, at least to my knowledge. I wouldn't worry about control arms twisting. I've never heard about such a thing. The front strut shocks should be replaced before the rears. Rears last a lot longer. Focus on the front struts and put in a strut brace. That will control body flex on tight curves and will substantially improve your handling. Johnny Mullet 05-15-2007, 10:44 PM Once any parts you decide to replace are done, have an alignment done. Rear alignment can be off. mwolfe83 05-16-2007, 10:50 AM wow. After going back and looking at my source, i realized that i misread the information. (http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/index.php?url=/carbycar/index.htm) Thanks for your help! I will get an alignment and ask the guys to check and see if i even need some new suspension. Thanks!
