95 Blazer Anti Lock Light Onkappy1 05-05-2007, 10:28 AM any ideas if I check the code will that help me maybe a wheel sensor but which one thanks MT-2500 05-05-2007, 10:59 AM You need to get the code to see what direction to go. Remember it takes a ABS capable scanner to get ABS codes. Post back code no and someone can help. MT 1996LTOwner 05-06-2007, 05:42 AM If you don't happen to have a scanner lying around, try pulling the front wheels off and checking the wires and connectors in the front wheel wells. I had a 96 Blazer that the wires to the front sensors had worn through due to the wires rubbing the inside of the rims. The routing of the wires can be pretty close to the wheel if the bracket that holds the wires gets bent. kappy1 05-06-2007, 07:43 AM thanks I will take a look,, also I had the codes checked my engine light has been on for awhile usually just the EGR valve needs cleaning,, had 7 codes though,, wholy crap... 02 sensor and misfires I tried to replace the plugs.. wow got 1 out it is bad ,, worn bad gap must be .070 yikes one of them I could not get to,, looks like the sterring shaft is right across from it how the heck do they get that out? then one felt like it was stripping I turned it in, out, killin myself so anyway only changed one plug ,, what a pain I need new wires also,, any help with this stuff I would appreciate,, getting to old to do this crap LOL may take it in,,, needs an inspection also.. yikes I am all sore today thaks for the info guys.. Kappy.. great site... are there anti lock sensors on the back wheels also? MT-2500 05-06-2007, 03:24 PM Check the how to section out on the installing spark plugs. And there may be some ABS sensor info up there to or run a search on ABS brakes.. But you really need the ABS codes to know which direction to go on ABS brakes. 1996LTOwner 05-07-2007, 06:00 AM For the plugs, remove the front wheels and go through the wheel wells. Lift the rubber flap and you'll see the plugs much easier. The no.3 (I think) plug behind the steering shaft, I always used a "warble" extension with the plug socket. It's just like a regular extension but has the end rounded so you can use it at an angle to the socket. Normally had to loosen it with that setup and use fingers to finish it. Same way installing it. Fingers as far as possible and tighten with socket and warble extension. Not to be discouraging, but if you think the plugs are tough, you'll think the wires are a real hoot. While you're at it, you should replace cap and rotor along with the plugs and wires. Stay away from the Wells brand cap. I never had to mess with the rear ABS sensors but I suppose there are sensors there. My troubleshooting stopped at the front tires. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
